This is very true. Thanks for the upgrade information, Ben. Shingles, or Varricella Zoster, is a Herpes Virus that causes Chicken Pox. You only get Chicken Pox once in your life. After the illness of Chicken Pox, the virus remains in your body laying dormant, mostly around the nerve cells. For reasons that are yet unclear, many say stress or illness, the virus begins to multiply again causing painful reddened bumps along the nerves in your body that will eventually pustulate and erupt with fluid leaking out. This fluid is highly contagious and can even become aerosolized (move through the air) so keep your distance and wash your hands and clothing/bedding very well. There are many different types of Herpes Virus. This is not the same, but is similar, to the dreaded and embarrasingly stereotyped sexually transmitted disease. You can not catch an STD from someone with shingles, unless they have something else too. Every picture of Shingles rashes you can imagine.
